Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Travel Diesel Generator Technician in Des Moines, IA! The Generator Mechanic/Technician will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium duty diesel trailer generators. PMs and minor repairs will be conducted. Experience with trailer generators, emergency generators, electrical schematics, electrical trailer breaks, DOT inspection and diesel generator PMs is required. Computer competency is needed as well to manage part purchasing and work orders.

Locations covered: covering Iowa (location of work center), Nebraska, and Minnesota

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! SIGN-ON BONUS MAY BE INCLUDED

Shift: 7:00am- 3:00pm M-F

What the Mobile Diesel Generator Mechanic/Technician role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to vehicles
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare required safety documentation

What our ideal candidate looks like: At least 3 years’ experience as an Generator Mechanic/Technician performing vehicle repair and maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school

• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Excellent communication skills and proficient computer skills
• Must have own tools
• Must have valid driver's license
