Water Operator Job at Howell-Oregon PWSD #2
The Operator of a Public Water Supply District is responsible for a variety of routine tasks including maintenance, service, construction activities and communication with DNR, Engineer's and patrons. Service orders or these tasks will be issued through the office as trouble calls are received from customers or any and all duties requested by the Board of Directors. Work with Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Public Drinking Water and engineer's as necessary to abide by all Laws, Rules and Regulations that govern a Public Water Supply District. Job shall require some night, weekends, holidays and overtime. Comp time shall be used to offset. The operator, though may be employed on a part-time basis on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the District as the first priority. Normal working schedule shall be 40 hours per week with on call work to be compensated by comp time. Normal work week shall require the Chief Operator or him/ her to assign at least one operator to be available 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week or subject to change based upon situation. A minimum of $14.61 an hour and may be subject to change as well based upon market fluctuation and Board decisions. Maintaining a detailed daily log in the office is imperative. All information shall be updated in the office in a timely manner. As a representative of the District it is your job to establish good public relations by referring any problems, questions or requests to the office immediately and carrying out your tasks expeditiously. Must have the ability to read and write and have a high school diploma or acquire a GED. This position requires lots of hand coordination when shoveling materials and applicant should possess the pride and initiative to keep the grounds, the autos, the buildings and especially the well houses neat & clean at all times in order to project a good image of the Water District. Shall work with other District employees to instill teamwork for all and maintain good communication. Expected and required On Call response time shall be 20 to 30 minutes maximum. Good communication with patrons shall be required at all times. Customer service to be 2nd priority, after safe water being 1st priority.
