This position will be located at the East Alton, IL facility. The starting wage for a Machine Shop Specialist is $38.27/hour. Essential Functions*:

  • Manual conventional lathes/mills, machine shop equipment as required including chrome plate, heat treat, gauges, and inspection.
  • Strong math and blueprint reading.
  • Machine parts as needed.
  • Interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Assist with process improvement and initiate change.

Position Requirements*:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent related heavy industrial machining/tool machining required. Recent related experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of using Micrometers, calipers, hardness testers, and optical comparators.
  • Ability to utilize various hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and sledgehammers.
  • Individual must be multi-tasking, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Current schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Must also be willing to work weekends and forced overtime.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required
