The Advanced Projects Program Manager will:

• Lead and manage one or more advanced system design and development projects from concept through advancing technology readiness levels
• Direct, lead, and manage early initiative, white paper, proposal, project, studies, and/or program development activities
• Lead internally and externally funded Research and Development projects
• Plan and progress programs for transition to flight development and/or production.

Work Schedule: Standard 40-hour work week (some overtime may be required)

• Lead, direct, and manage proposal, project, and/or program teams
• Lead and manage systemic and detailed technical solution development
• Prepare and update project plans and status reports
• Execute proposal, project, and/or program activities
• Allocate resources to ensure projects are completed within schedule and budget
• Regularly track projects, manage project risks and impact of changes, provide mitigation plans, proactively manage escalation of issues to appropriate stakeholders, and manage mission creep
• Actively manage and report cost, schedule, risk and performance status
• Manage changes to project scope, cost and schedule of work
• Review project team deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to internal and customer standards
• Develop strong relationships with customers to understand their needs, to anticipate obstacles to success, and to advocate internally on their behalf
• Participate in corporate business development activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Five (plus) years of work-related experience
• Strong Program Management and Systems Engineering Skills
• Experience in space systems research, design, and development
• Excellent communication skills and ability to develop executive-level briefings

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or higher: Advanced degree in a technical or business/economics domain
• Nine (plus) years of work-related experience
• Ability to navigate uncertainty while maintaining objectivity and transparency
• Experience with NASA, DoD Source Selection and Government R&D programs
• Experience in space motion control systems and robotics
