Essential Duties:
  • Participates in the analysis, selection, design, development, and implementation of business information solutions.
  • Consistently develops practical and detailed project work plans and test plans according to departmental standards.
  • Coordinates the development of functional design specifications interface specifications, conversion specifications, and database structures.
  • Ensures that system user interfaces are designed to maximize efficient and error-free utilization by the user.
  • Consistently notifies Management of problems or delays related to the project and provides alternative approaches.
  • Effectively performs as a member of the project team; works with other personnel assigned to the project to efficiently perform assigned tasks.
  • Accurately evaluates existing systems, both manual and automated; effectively analyzes alternate approaches for meeting user requirements.
  • Serves as a mentor to junior analysts, providing them with guidance for day to day support of existing systems.
  • Acts as the application expert within the IS department.
  • Provides guidance to junior analysts during resolution of system issues, or implementation of system changes.
  • Effectively facilitates communication with user departments to exchange information and ideas, review requests for service, and/or resolve problems to meet customer needs.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert related to the users' environment and information needs.
  • Consistently demonstrates effective verbal communication skills; communicates ideas clearly and in a manner appropriate for the audience.
  • Participates in strategic information planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and other information systems related task forces.
  • Actively participates in meetings, completes assignments timely and accurately.
  • Effectively consults with other users and with IS staff to ensure that all data gathering is accurate and consistent.
  • Accurately evaluates existing systems, both manual and automated, including volumes, data flow, documents, reports, and other important factors.
  • Effectively prepares and presents documentation appropriate for the members of the task force.
  • Leads projects independently at defined by the IS departments project management methodology.
  • Develops project plans, and test plans.
  • Coordinates and conducts meetings with end users, IS and vendors as required.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and disseminates meeting minutes in a timely manner.
  • Seeks guidance from project managers, supervisors, or IS managers appropriately.
  • Keeps management informed of any potential issues.
  • Analyzes and revises existing system procedures to resolve complex problems, updating or creating documentation, as necessary.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of assigned departmental systems as well as internal communication, presentation, and data management systems.
  • Assesses problem situations with care and considers all aspects before pursuing a solution; demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Develops accurate and informative presentation material as required to illustrate complex
    technical and functional concepts.
  • Demonstrates good written communication skills; writes documents and reports clearly, concisely, and grammatically correct.
  • Maintains current knowledge of corporate and departmental policies and procedures, applicable regulatory agencies, and information systems security policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five years in systems development or support.
OR
  • Six years of experience in systems development or support may substitute for degree.
Preferred
  • Experience with Workday Enterprise Resource Planning information systems.
  • Experience with Cerner Millenium
  • Experience with configuration for Patient Scheduling
  • Experience with Cerner Applications: Rev Cycle, SchappBook, CPM, PM Office
  • Experience with Cerner Tools: HNA, CoreCodeBuilder, Bedrock, Olympus
