DAYS/SALARY:NON-DEGREE $15.00 HOURLY, DEGREED $25.00 HOURLY

Job Summary
The ASPIRE instructor, under supervision from the ASPIRE site coordinator, will provide student supervision and instruction in academic and/or enrichment activities in the after school program. The ASPIRE instructor is required to follow all district, campus, and grant rules and guidelines as applicable.

Job Scope
This position directly supervises and instructs students

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Employ a variety of instructional techniques with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved
• Provide opportunities for students to participate actively and successfully
• Evaluate and provide feedback on student progress during instruction
• Cooperate with other members of the staff
• Employ the use of technologies in the teaching/learning process
• Assess the accomplishments of students when required
• Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school district
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes in an after school program
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of behavior
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials and facilities
• Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
• Provide as much as possible, a safe environment to protect students
• Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents and community members
• Promote the school in a positive manner within the school and community
• Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly to colleagues, students, parents and community
• Participate in training and staff meetings
• Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement
• Demonstrate human relations skills that are professional, ethical and responsible
• Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for the district as applicable
• Keep accurate attendance of students (including signing the attendance sheet daily)

Physical and Environmental Conditions
Work is located in a classroom environment. Must have the ability to move from one location to another throughout the campus.

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification

• High School Diploma (recommended: with college hours and knowledgeable of advanced academic classes)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate (verbal and written), and to instruct
Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
Set an example of organization, responsibility, and personal excellence for students.
Communicate high expectations for achievement by all students
Comfortable working with a diverse student population

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

All staff members and students are not required to wear masks but are highly encouraged to wear them and commonly used surfaces are sanitized often. There are hand sanitizer station in every classroom and in the hallways.
