The Miami HEAT and the FTX Arena is looking for a Part Time Audio Technician to join our team and assist with the day-to-day and event operation and maintenance of the venue’s audio systems. The Audio Technician should have strong background in live sound mixing and digital and analog audio distribution systems, including signal path distribution and routing, equipment set up, and regular maintenance procedures. The Audio Technician acts as A1 operator and will be working on a broad range of events from basketball games to major concerts to corporate events, specialty activations, and press conferences. Successful candidates have a good understanding of frequencies and acoustics and have the ability to perform at a high level in a high-pressure live event environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

• Assists in maintaining and managing Arena’s audio systems. Assist with maintaining audio equipment inventory.

• Set up and break down audio equipment including microphones, sound speakers, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing board, and related electronic systems for concerts, sporting events, meetings, conventions, presentations, and news conferences.

• Set up and test event-day audio equipment according to specific needs of that event

• Operate Arena Sound Control Booth. Operate control consoles for sound; Mixes, monitors, adjusts and enhances sound quality.

• Collaborate with other members of the Broadcast Services staff to integrate audio, video and lighting systems in support of events and general daily operation

• Collaborate with other departments regarding show needs.

• Follow instructions and details from event coordinators, producers, audio manager, etc.

• Collaborate with all positions in a live production control room

• Diagnose and resolve audio system problems; Resolve technical issues when they arise

• Serve as lead A/V tech for remote productions.

• Assist Broadcast Services Department as needed or directed.

• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Experience

• 4 to 5 years’ experience as live sound technician
• Technical expertise in sound engineering techniques (e.g. feedback equalization, patching, routing, digital plugins)
• Experience with live event sound production including mixing, hard-wired and wireless microphone setup, and PA system operation
• Experience with audio signal distribution and mixing systems
• Experience and knowledge in audio over IP, Dante protocols and software’s.
• Fluent in Clear-Com, Yamaha, Presonus, Shure, Lake Controller, Dante
• Experience with sound editing and recording equipment.
• Installation experience with audio and video equipment is a plus
