JOB SUMMARY:

Civil engineer to design, plan and develop a wide range of projects from conception through to completion.

• Assist in private sector civil site related projects
• Research & analysis
• Preparation of project work for commercial builders, private developers, architects, or other landowners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors. Support client relationships.
• Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up drawings that satisfy technical specifications
• Assess and mitigate potential risks
• Experience managing schedules, budgets and project resources.
• Ability to effectively resolve design and development problems and deficiencies
• Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
• Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
• Must have working knowledge of public agency codes, processes and requirements as well as an understanding of concept of schedules, budget & scope of service.
• Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a Civil Engineering degree (BS/MA) and/or an EIT.
• Preferably 5 – 8 years of experience in civil engineering
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, hydraulics/ water regulatory approvals
• Strong project management and supervision/training skills
• Strong communication, speaking and interpersonal skills
• Must have great organizational skills.
• Some experience in a consultative capacity
• Self-motivated team player who will actively promote teamwork.
