Title: Data Site Reliability Engineer

Location: NYC, NY

Scheduled Work Hours: Hybrid schedule up to 3x/week onsite during core business hours Monday-Friday

Job Description:  The Data & Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will assist the division in building a secure, scalable and cloud-native data processing framework; design and implement highly defensible security infrastructure on behalf of NYC governmental agencies.

Responsibilities:

 Developing and maintaining our data pipeline using Apache Beam, Java, Python and other data processing technologies

 Familiarity with all three major clouds - Azure, AWS, and GCP

 Experience working and integration with Cloud SaaS services and Cloud APIs

 Identifying and implementing performance improvements across all data pipelines

 Engaging with data consumers and producers in order to design appropriate models to suit all needs

 Maintaining information exchanges through publish, subscribe, and alert functions that enable users to send and receive critical information as required

 Supporting incident management, service-level management, change management, release management, continuity management, and availability management for databases and data management systems

 Administering databases and/or data management systems that allow for the secure storage, query, protection, and utilization of data Mandatory Skills/Experience

 At least 8 years’ experience analyzing large, high velocity, heterogeneous datasets  At least 8 years of professional experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages; preferably java or python

 At least 8 years of relational database design and SQL scripting

 Experience working with HashiCorp Terraform

 Experience with 24/7/365 SRE support Desirable Skills/Experience:

 Experience with the Agile Development Methodology

 Familiarity with Unix scripting, Web development, and automated testing  Familiarity with the CI/CD process

 Familiarity with or exposure to cloud application development  Familiarity with distributed data processing framework

 Proficiency with software development tools such as IDE, debuggers, source code control (e.g., GitHub), JIRA, and other productivity tools Internal Reference:

 Remote, on-camera interview

 Recruiter confirms certificates and degrees of the final candidate proper to onboarding

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $44.97 - $89.72 per hour
