WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR*

The Demand Planning Manager who will be successful in this position is someone who is confident and competent, with the ability to evaluate business performance, develop learnings, communicate findings and translate all of this into future forecast expectations. The Manager will have an incredible understanding of forecasting concepts, brand strategy, sales execution, beauty industry trends and other economic factors which could have a major impact on future sales performance. The manager will be a self-starter with a sensational curiosity to find and understand business drivers. You will develop & maintain key components of volume plans for the Thrive Causemetics portfolio which will drive the annual revenue plan, P&L’s, gap closure and product supply and future brand actions. This role will be expected to initiate meaningful analysis and projects. Beauty industry experience is a plus with a preference for candidates who have previously worked in cosmetics and/or skincare.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Beauty industry experience is a plus.
  • Develop category and SKU-level forecasts for the business, utilizing historical demand and preseason data from various sources.
  • Create and document forecasting models and methodology for the organization.
  • Implement Forecast Accuracy (FA) and bias metrics to ensure precise demand projection.
  • Deliver service levels consistently from 95% to 98% while reducing inventory through a standardized and repeatable demand/supply process each month with clear expectations and management controls.
  • Develop and manage Demand Change Request Form to effectuate short-term market intelligence reports.
  • Generation and accountability to the accuracy of multiple forecast levels that influences sales volume targets, and P&L’s, drive gap closure discussions and capacity planning driven by a combination of statistical methods and collaboration with key partners.
  • Continuously meet or exceed accuracy targets and be able to articulate forecast performance, assumptions, and deviations from expectations.
  • Anticipate and address potential supply chain challenges before they occur, and work with the appropriate parties to mitigate possible problems.
  • Leverage complex forecast models to derive seasonal and monthly demand patterns.
  • Demonstrate expertise with products similar to those in the TC portfolio.
  • While leveraging statistically based forecasting will be the foundational method used for forecasting, it is the expectation that the demand planner will add value to the forecast based on collaboration and knowledge of sales and merchandising programs as well as market performance.
  • Aggregate forecasts and develops reports to support category growth planning and cross-functional analysis. Represent forecasting in monthly meetings with cross-functional business departments.
  • Translate market intelligence received into precise, specific value-added changes to the forecast and communicate changes to Brand Managers.
  • Drive Demand planning activities to produce periodic demand plans, including an 18-month rolling forecast.
  • Assist with driving the continuous improvement of the S&OP processes by collaborating across the related field(s): Forecasting, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Production Planning, etc.

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

  • Beauty industry experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years experience as a demand planning manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields: Business, Supply Chain, Statistics.
  • Knowledge and understanding of forecasting concepts, brand strategy, sales execution, industry trends, and other economic factors
  • Ability to evaluate business performance, develop learnings, communicate findings and translate into future forecast expectations
  • Financial insight and understanding of volume mix shifts, spending, pricing, ROI, and impacts on a P&L
  • Strong influencing and communications skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Assured ability to present to and influence leadership
  • Knowledge BI tools, data visualization tools, Business Objects, quantitative statistical methods

As required by C.R.S. 8-5-201(2): (Colorado only) The pay range for this role is $107,080 - $120,975. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
