Job Description: Reporting to the Resident Services & Lifestyle Coordinator, this position is located at a 55+ age-restricted, high-rise in Laguna Woods Village. This position will assist in a variety of duties including setting up chairs, tables, audio/visual equipment for association events, distributing event fliers and information to residents on all floors, updating and maintaining bulletin boards and signage, and delivering packages and items to residents. Includes some occasional light cleaning and basic maintenance duties. Looking for a self-starting individual who can work under low supervision and takes the initiative to assist when they recognize a situation needs assistance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review master calendar and set up rooms according to diagrams for resident events. Includes tables, chairs, podiums, microphones, projectors and screens, risers, flowers, music stands, stage equipment, dance floors, pianos/organs, coffee urns and related equipment
  • Delivery of notices throughout the high-rise to notify residents of recreational events, meetings, maintenance updates, and other association/community new, etc.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining bulletin boards throughout the high-rise to keep residents informed of recreational events, meetings, maintenance updates, and association/community news
  • Assists with deliveries for residents and staff as needed, including packages, boxes and other items
  • Moves furniture in common areas as requested, including moving furniture to accommodate large events
  • Takes down flags in front of the building
  • Removes, breaks down, and disposes of all moving/shipping boxes left in hallways or other common areas
  • Assists Reception Desk with break and meal periods
  • Performs light cleaning and trash pick-up in common areas
  • Completes work orders including well-checks, changing lightbulbs, troubleshooting televisions and other small electronics, unlocking units when requested, pads/un-pads elevators as requested
  • Assists the Activities Department at various events including movies, performances and other evening activities
  • Assists in setting up holiday parties and holiday decor throughout the building for residents and staff
  • Assist with other jobs and other duties as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight
  • Must be able to efficiently deliver items in two separate 14-story high-rise buildings
  • 1 to 2 years of customer service experience
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents and staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to interact effectively with active adults over 55 years of age
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Electronic/Mobile Devices/Internet/Media Services

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
