The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has an opportunity for a Parish Financial Consultant to provide financial support for parishes and schools. This role reports to the Director of Finance and is a member of the Central Office team.
This position is based at The Mary Mother of the Church Pastoral Center, located in St. Francis, is the main office for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. The archdiocese covers 4,758 square miles in southeast Wisconsin and includes the following counties: Dodge, Fond du Lac, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha. Almost 200 parishes, over 100 Catholic schools, and 6 cemeteries are part of the archdiocese. This position requires some travel to parishes within the archdiocese approximately 20-40% of the time.

Job Description
Obtain, analyze, and evaluate accounting data and documentation to prepare and present reports that reflect the results of a parish and school financial review. Provide recommendations and assisting parish and school staff with implementing policies and procedures. Prepare reports with recommendations based on findings to improve internal controls and operations with corrective actions. Evaluate the operating effectiveness of parish internal controls and processes. Assist Parish Finance Offices with collection and review of parish and school budgets and Confidential Financial Statements (CFS's).
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 2-3 years of progressive Accounting, Audit or Financial work experience.
- Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Experience in a non-profit organization preferred.
- CPA or CIA preferred.
- QuickBooks or other Accounting Software experience preferred.
- Ability to securely handle confidential information.
- Detail oriented and able to handle in-depth, special projects.
- Proven ability to work in a team setting, directly or indirectly.
Compensation and Benefits
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee provides a full-scope of employment benefits, including health and wellness, flex-time, Catholic school tuition assistance for children of employees, and a pension program. The position can be either full-time or part-time (benefits vary) and is a salaried role at the Pastoral Center in St. Francis. Occasional weekend and evening assignments and regular travel throughout the archdiocese are involved.
