The Human Resources Manager leads Human Resources processes and assists with the recruitment and ongoing development of a high performance workforce, in order to provide a culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and goal attainment. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for implementing people related services, policies, and programs.

As a Human Resources Manager, you will:

  • Partner with office leadership to establish an engaged and high-performing culture, through office and community events and productivity initiatives. Surface potential breakdowns in culture and engagement, and determine and administer appropriate responses, in conjunction with leadership.
  • Assess and manage employee relation issues by conducting internal investigations, including performance interventions and termination recommendations
  • Monitor employee engagement and performance, and provide coaching, counseling, and training, to managers and staff
  • Oversee and manage the work and development of the reporting Human Resources staff
  • Partner with staff recruiting and hiring managers, to create recruiting strategies; conduct in person interviews and make hiring recommendations
  • Manage and administer the local office performance management process, including 90-day and annual performance evaluations
  • Conduct attorney and staff new hire process; including onboarding and orientation
  • Lead the attorney and staff departure process
  • Manage electronic and physical personnel files
  • Oversee the unemployment claim process by reviewing claims and representing the Firm at hearings as necessary
  • Assist employees with ADA, worker’s compensation and leave of absence related requests
  • Research federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and compare internal policies and practices to ensure compliance
Job Specifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data in order to make strategic and operational decisions
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to build relationships and influence the thinking of business partners
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
