About the Court System

The New York State Unified Court System, the judicial branch of the state government, is one of the largest and busiest court systems in the world. Its workforce of 16,000 dedicated judges and non-judicial employees serve the public by providing just and timely resolution of all matters before the courts.

The Division of Human Resources provides support services and consultation to judges, court administrators, court personnel, and the public. The Division is seeking an analyst in the Appointments Unit. The Senior Court Analyst will serve as a resource for senior managers and employees and exercise professional judgement.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with human resource projects, analyzing data, and providing recommendations for improving efficiencies and accuracy of data

Reviewing documents for accuracy and compliance with civil service rules and procedures

Advising employees and managers on the interpretation of human resources policies, programs, and procedures

Guiding and advising managers on appointment processing and entry of employee information into HRIS system

Auditing and correcting transactions in the HRIS system

Assisting local human resource analysts with the interpretation and application of civil service rules and policies

Coordinating canvasses for competitive civil service appointments and coordinating the interview process

Maintaining and updating human resources files

Assisting with writing business procedures

Participating in training and orientation of employees

Assisting with maintaining compliance with contractual agreements, federal, and state regulations concerning employment

Minimal travel may be required

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Human Resources from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience.

Experience using HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft is a plus.

High level proficiency using Microsoft Office including Excel.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skill in time management for meeting deadlines.

Preference will be given to candidates with union and/or civil service experience.

Salary:

$66,965 Annually
