Opportunity


Responsible for providing technical support in operation of the molding line. Follow QS9000 procedures to ensure quality specifications. Monitor and regulate molding line parameters to ensure sound manufacturing processes.

Specific Responsibilities



Direct tooling changes based on production needs and chemistry requirements to meet part specifications.

Regulate cooling line times and schedule according to part specifications.

Understand, interpret and act on information obtained from cooling curves and their relationship to microstructures

Closely observe Visipour system to ensure in-strem inoculant, and auto-pour equipment are operating as prescribed, making adjustments when necessary to stay within established parameters.

Monitor Metals lab information and make adjustments to the alloy additions in order to maintain final chemistry specifications.

Calculate alloy additions in order to change iron grade.

Monitor sand lab information and adjust sand system inputs based on current part, upcoming parts, and current sand conditions.

Monitor operating panels, inform supervision and call for maintenance help when necessary.

Maintain accurate daily melting records, store and dispose of records as per QS9000 instructions.

Follow department safety rules including Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Monitor general functions of equipment as needed.

Responsible for supervisory management of the molding line when the shift foreman is not available.

Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma required, associates degree preferred.
  • Preferred candidate will have courses in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
  • Minimum of one to two years foundry experience preferred.
  • Experience dealing with people and working in a team situation is required.
