Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance with both short- and long-term aircraft maintenance project planning for the Maintenance Department. This position will regularly maintain up-to-date knowledge of FAA Maintenance requirements and use forward-looking thoughts to plan required maintenance activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Generates scheduled maintenance check forecasts (MX due report). Short term and long term.
- Schedules down time with maintenance control and flight ops and prepares work packages for aircraft and engine maintenance in accordance with the GMM based on forecasts (for large scheduled packages)
- Coordinates material support requirements for scheduled maintenances
- Coordinates engine and APU forecasts, movements, spares allocation, and equipment shipping.
- Coordinates with maintenance control on Short Term Maintenance and MEL/CDL clearance
- Maintains historical records of aircraft operating hours and cycles.
- Creates aircraft and engine utilization reports.
- Assist MX Control with reviews and audits completed work packages for completeness, sign-off requirements and record retention requirements
- Ensures maintenance systems are properly updated with aircraft/engine block hours, flight hours, cycles as appropriate before and after heavy maintenance
- May be asked to assist MX Control to schedule maintenance deferred items during periods where no heavy maintenance is being performed
- Other duties as assigned by the management team based on business needs
Experience & Qualifications
The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria.
- 3-5 years of maintenance planning or administration experience preferred
- A college degree with applicable focus preferred
- Highly organized with acute attention to detail accompanying good project and time management skills.
- Expert level verbal, written, and computer skills while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.
- Expert-level knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 and Part 91 maintenance requirements and regulations.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and required to reach with hands and arms. There is no significant standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. The person in this position needs to be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. There is a constant operation of a telephone and computer. The employee may be lifting up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust and focus.
