CARDINAL CT is seeking a night shift Maintenance Technician with a solid background to troubleshoot, diagnose & repair mechanical equipment for our plant in Mount Airy, NC. Cardinal CT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cardinal Glass, Inc., the industry leader in the development of residential glass for windows and doors. Job Description:

Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs controls, drives, electronic motor devices, sensors, pumps, ovens, industrial machinery, conduit systems, & emergency lighting systems.

Skills Needed:

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, circuit and wiring diagrams, schematics and work instructions.
  • Ability to add sensors, VFDs, controllers and other devices to manufacturing lines with help from OEMs.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency on troubleshooting and repairing equipment for minimal downtime.
  • Possess excellent project/assignment completion record.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to carry through self-directed projects and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Must have innate desire to work and perform safely.

General Qualifications:

  • Three - Five years Industrial Maintenance Experience (Preferred).
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough Knowledge and Practice of LOTO.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs following a scheduled PM program and as needed to keep the plant operational.
  • Troubleshoot; routinely inspect equipment and electro-pneumatic controls as necessary on automated equipment.
  • Knowledge of gas burner systems is beneficial.
  • Report to Maintenance Manager on equipment condition and status as necessary.
  • Install all new equipment including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and computer systems.
  • Overtime Work, as necessary, including on other shifts as well as being on call during periods.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing equipment to perform maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Reduce machine downtime; improve throughput and overall performance of machines.
  • Maintain/build preventative maintenance schedules by thoroughly documenting all issues, repairs, parts used, recommendations, etc.
  • Meets established expectations and takes responsibility for achieving results; encourages others to do the same.
  • Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work form heights using ladders and aerial lift devices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout work shift.
  • Ability to stand/walk constantly throughout work shift.
  • Ability to squat, bend/twist at waist, knees and neck, frequently.
  • Ability to use both hands simultaneously exerting push/pull force of up to 125 lbs. frequently.
  • Frequent reaching/handling/grasping.
  • Ability to climb; work in awkward and sometimes cramped positions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in shop area.

Competitive Hourly Pay - $21

(annual salary range w/ Profit Sharing: $55,413 - $64,646)
