Shift Start Time: 11a--7:30p (Tues. thru Sat.) or (Sun. thru Thurs.)
On Call, Call Back Requirements: none
Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirements: If it falls on your workday, then you will work it
Floating Requirements: ICU
Patient Service Area (PSA): South Chicagoland
JOB DESCRIPTION
Performs a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures to evoke, record and study electrical physiology brain activities for use in diagnosing neurological disorders.
General Information
- Beds: Outpatient -2, Inpatient -2
- Will accept 1st time traveler, but must have 2 years' experience
Patient Types: Neonates up to geriatrics (Seizures, strokes, gunshot victims, autistic, ADHD, pseudo-seizures, trauma)
Patient Ratios: 1:1
Required Certifications: BLS, EEG certification (unless grandfathered in from experience)
Skills required: Neonatal experience, electrode placement, prepping patient, recording/measuring, pattern recognition, wrapping head for continuous EEG; Nihon Kohden software experience
- EPIC experience preferred
Support on the Unit:
- Other EEG techs are available
- RRT/Code Team
- EEG Supervisor
- Public safety officer
- 911 will be called for outpatients
Charting System: Nihon Kohden software, EPIC
