Border States Paving is hiring a Payroll Administrator!
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for completing and reviewing all phases of weekly and semi-monthly hourly/salary payroll and all other functions associated with the payroll process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets up new employees in the payroll program; assists in maintaining employment documentation; updates payroll records (exemptions and other deductions)
- Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll.
- Creates certified payroll reports for government agencies.
- Processes certified payrolls.
- Set up Trainees through State On The Job Training program
- Processes quarterly and annual payroll reports; such as 940, 941 and W-2’s.
- Reconciles wage garnishments and child support deductions.
- Everify/New Hire reporting requirements.
- Respond to employee questions, comments concerning payroll issues.
- Oversee Field Office Manager’s regarding payroll.
- Assist in other areas of accounting to include accounts receivable, accounts payable, sales tax reporting and job costing.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Current knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations as it pertains to Payroll.
- Proficient with computers and software programs.
- Have strong communication and analytical skills.
- Solid problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Be self- directed and motivated.
- Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 2-year accounting or business degree, or equivalent experience.
- 5 plus years related payroll experience.
- Experience with Vista Viewpoint Software, a plus.
Salary: $50-$65K plus 100% health insurance premium paid, 401K match, Profit sharing, dental, vision and Aflac
