ROLE SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Business Manager, in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team, is responsible for operating the medication and pharmacy supply purchasing program, pharmacy operations, and improvement initiatives. The Pharmacy Business Manager role will represent all pharmacy locations across the agency and will be responsible in identifying, executing, and maintaining an effective medication management system as well as be a strategic thinker in regard to operation and financial goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • At the direction of pharmacy leadership, operates pharmacy medication and supply purchasing program including assisting in developing strategy, policies and quality assurance measures.
  • Create strategies to meet operational and financial goals.
  • Provides business support for the annual physical inventory at both pharmacy locations including being key contact between Pharmacy Services & Finance Leadership; responsible for pharmacy inventory in partnership with the Pharmacist in Charge, including ordering, invoice processing.
  • Operational support for clinic teams including partnership developing workflow processes.
  • Take lead role in any new software/hardware implementation at both pharmacy locations. Represent Pharmacy Services to partner with leadership in other departments the situation requires.
  • Develop & write department policies & procedures. Work with various departments when required for implementation/approval.
  • In collaboration with CCC’s Compliance Department, act as the primary Pharmacy Services rep for the 340B program including price changes, program updates & continuing education.
  • In collaboration with CCC’s Compliance Department, responsible for supporting and adhering to regulatory compliance for Pharmacy supply chain including, but not limited to, 340B, DEA, Oregon Board of Pharmacy, EPA, DOT and HRSA.
  • Actively participates in Pharmacy Leadership activities internal and external to the supply chain (e.g. data gathering, reporting, program development and support, quality improvement, committee membership/management, project management, training, education, etc.).
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, supports pharmacy contract and vendor management.
  • Represents Pharmacy Services as needed in working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports technology systems in collaboration with the Pharmacy leadership team and external stakeholders (Vendors, IT, etc.).
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting to Pharmacy Leadership new internal and external opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness to support effective Pharmacy Services across the agency.
  • Executes invoice management for pharmacy services
  • Creates, reviews, and analyzes reports for various business needs (e.g. financial reports, operation reports, revenue cycle reports, productivity reports)
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
  • Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Technology or related field preferred.
  • Must have 1 year of program management, project management, other relevant experience or 3-5 years of relevant working experience (pharmacy, purchasing, or healthcare).
  • Experience with data reporting, metrics collection, and promoting operational efficiency is preferred.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Must complete all required training, application, and testing to achieve Oregon Pharmacy Technician license within 1 year of hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. Must be able to create spreadsheets, presentations, and use other tools in Microsoft Office to create documents, report and analyze metrics and present data effectively.
  • If using a vehicle for agency use: Must possess a current driver’s license, access to a vehicle, qualify as an Acceptable Driver as designated in Central City Concern’s Fleet Safety policy; pass an initial drivers training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training; and maintain vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 personal auto liability coverage.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects. Able to climb stairs several times a day.
  • If a recovering chemically dependent person must be in a program of recovery and able to provide documentation of sobriety a minimum of two years.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB Test, and background check.
  • Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policies.
