Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the cleaning of equipment and other areas of the facility as designated by the Supervisor. This individual will also supervise the sanitation crew as well as perform hands on Sanitation tasks.
The successful candidate must demonstrate competency in English in reading, writing and verbal communication, and will need to understand and execute written Sanitation SSOP’s. The individual will also be responsible for training employees in the SSOP’s and making sure that the assigned work is being completed and documented in a safe and effective manner. The individual must be comfortable both as a leader as well as working independently.
This role reports to the Sanitation Supervisor. A high performer in this position will identify problems or discrepancies in the existing programs and will seek and implement solutions to support continuous improvement within the food safety and Sanitation programs with little to no supervision.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist in in the managing of the Sanitation cleaning schedule by ensuring that the schedule is being followed and that the completed tasks are documented.
Train and develop new employees in the various Sanitation tasks, safety procedures and equipment use.
Communicate with the Supervisor on shift to determine equipment or area availability.
Perform Sanitation tasks including those that require the use of power equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Requires the ability to read and write English.
Previous Sanitation experience preferred.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work with hazardous chemicals
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Must be able to work in high places up to 30’ high
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in tight places
Must be able to work in confined spaces
Must be able to twist and bend down to reach under and between equipment
Must be able to wear a harness
Ability to work in hot and humid environment
Must be able to assemble and disassemble equipment using various hand and power tools
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and start times
Must be able to follow written instructions
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to follow all safety instructions
Must be able to follow all GMP procedures
Must be able to don all of the required personal protective equipment
Must be able to perform lock-out Tag-Out procedures
Must be able to drive a forklift
Must be able to drive a Genie Boom
Must be able to work on and drive a scissor lift
Must be able to drive a floor scrubber
Ability to work collaboratively within teams and influence others
English written and oral communication skills
Able to work independently and to handle multiple priorities under minimal supervisor
The salary range for this position is $18.85 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, and labor markets.
