About Project Angel Heart: Our vision is for all Coloradans living with severe illness to have access to nutritious food that supports their health and well-being. To that end, we compassionately deliver comfort and support through high-quality nutrition services, including medically tailored meals, while also advocating for the principles of “Food is Medicine.” This year, we will prepare and deliver more than 700,000 meals to more than 4,000 people living with cancer, heart failure, HIV/AIDS and other illnesses.

Position Overview: This position is responsible for ensuring all of our clients in Pueblo receive weekly meal deliveries. The position includes recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers for distribution and delivery, delivering food to clients, and strengthening our connection to the community.

Amount of Time and Status: Non-Exempt, 30 hours per week. Tuesday through Saturday work week; Saturdays 8:00am to 2:00pm; other hours flexible. Occasional event/evening hours. Position can be based in Project Angel Heart’s Colorado Springs office, or be remote in Pueblo, Colorado.

Reports to: Director of Volunteer Resources

Compensation: Project Angel Heart offers a competitive hourly rate of $21.65/hour in addition to comprehensive health insurance options from both Aetna and Kaiser Permanente (vision and dental as well) and short and long-term disability insurance. Essential Responsibilities Include:

· Building and retaining a committed volunteer team (estimated 8-15 weekly volunteers with growth expected) in the Pueblo region including recruitment, training, and scheduling to ensure accurate distribution and delivery of all client meals

· Provides on-going coaching to ensure volunteers are effectively and meaningfully engaged while meeting agency mission needs

· Facilitates new volunteer orientations and keeps all relevant materials up to date

· Serves as the organization’s primary connection to the Pueblo community, including building relationships with new sources of volunteers and client referrals . Includes coordinating and attending community outreach events.

· Effectively and accurately utilizes agency processes including Microsoft Office Suite, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge suite, Google Sheets, Client Track, CERVIS, and WorkWave mapping software. Supplies reports as needed

· Supports office functions along with other teammates including maintaining shared office spaces

· Serves as backup delivery driver when volunteers are unavailable

· Facilitates client meal pick-ups in Colorado Springs and Pueblo as needed

· Serves as backup for Colorado Springs distribution and deliveries as needed

· Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

· Passion for volunteerism, community engagement, and Project Angel Heart’s mission

· High level of self-motivation, reliability, and dependability

· Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, and a CRM database, preferred

· Well-developed and flexible organizational and communication skills (written and oral) with a strong aptitude to work as a team member

· Coordinates logistics and implements processes efficiently and effectively

· Willingness and commitment to maintain confidential information

· Interested and able to work with diverse populations

· Maintains a personal reliable vehicle to complete meal deliveries

· Maintains a valid Colorado driver’s license and good driving record

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

Work environment is varied with time spent in an office setting, personal vehicle during delivery, as well as in a warehouse walk-in freezer and cooler normally at Care & Share Food Bank. Physical activities include sitting at a desk and working on a keyboard and computer, conducting business over the telephone and via email, and standing for an undetermined amount of time. Position requires pushing and loading/unloading meal racks that are 75+ pounds as necessary and carrying meal bags up to 25 pounds in and out of the cooler/freezer. Position also requires driving a vehicle on regular basis, as well as occasional loading and unloading of agency materials in and out of vehicles.
