The Senior Process Technician is responsible for maintaining and leading the injection molding process. This position provides manufacturing support to Process Technicians, optimizes molding processes, develops new molding processes, and works on continuous improvement initiatives. This position also provides support to execute the production schedule, which includes mold/insert changeovers, equipment setup, and startup of injection molding equipment (including auxiliary equipment), in accordance with Company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as a leader for all aspects of the injection molding process to include, set‐up, start up and shut down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and workflow.
• Direct and monitor the execution of the production schedule and perform insert/mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule.
• Troubleshoot mold issues, verify machine settings, verify auxiliary equipment settings, and monitor various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement (e.g., cycle time, scarp, quality, material cost reduction, etc.) and process troubleshooting.
• Work with Engineering on current and new molds for alternative material sampling and new product sampling.
• Verify documents, including start up and in process product inspection sheets, process monitoring log, changeover check list.
• Prepare and set up support equipment (i.e. circulators, grinders, thermolators, hot runner controllers, material dryers and material loaders, etc.) as needed in the production area prior to start up.
• Maintain documentation closely following necessary timeliness on specific projects.
• Provide support on new product launch, providing the manufacturing input for development of new processes and improvements to existing processes and tooling.
• Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivelent and seven (7) years of relevant work experience. Master Molder certification preferred. Experience setting up and operating injection molding machines and auxilary equipment, including robots, is required. Experience diagnosing process issues, making minor repairs, controlling quality, and maintaining high levels of uptime on machines.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
