Embedded Software Developer - Qt GUI

A Day in the Life

• You will work with a cross-functional team to design GUI for a market leading hysteroscopic tissue resection system.
• You will work with Software Architect and Human Factors Engineer to define project scope and acceptance criteria.
• You will develop, unit test, integrate, and document embedded software.
• You will work with Software Engineers to define the interaction between software subsystems.
• You will serve as a technical consulting resource for software integration.
• You will analyze issues and determine root causes.
• You will lead design and code reviews.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Experience with user interface (UI) design
• Experience with Qt QML
• Experience with Qt Widgets
• Proficiency with modern C++
• Experience with cross-development environments for embedded development
• Experience working on development workstations running Linux (Ubuntu)
• Experience with cross toolchains and libraries
• Solid understanding of Linux host tools (editors, debuggers, and utilities)
• Solid understanding of CMake for build automation and testing
• Solid understanding of IPC sockets
• Experience with Git
• Good documentation practices
• Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and non-verbal.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GUI testing tools (like Squish)
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with Jenkins
• Experience with Data Distribution Service (DDS)
• Demonstrated skills in developing and introducing innovative FDA-regulated medical devices to market; experience with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, 21 CFR part 820.30-Design Controls).

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities. Determines systems software design requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University). DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS Autonomy: Established and productive individual contributor. Works independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments.
