The Country Childrens Center provides Northern Westchester with a premier summer day camp in a caring and nurturing setting.Our mission is to enhance the camp experience and provide a safe environment for the campers and counselors who call our grounds home.
We need 3 lifeguards - all positions are located in Katonah, New York but at different camp sites.
Schedule: July 3rd to August 24th Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be available all dates.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to Aquatics Director and reports daily to discuss observations, problems and concerns regarding campers at the pool.
- Actively guards bathers at the pool.
- Responds appropriately to pool emergencies.
- Manages and enforces the buddy system, as required by the local health department.
- Performs various maintenance duties to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Inspects pool daily.
- Regularly checks and documents chemical levels of the pools.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- Previous aquatics experience
- Good communication skills with staff, children, and parents
- Hard-working, responsible, safety conscious, reliable, and prompt
- At least 17 years old
Certifications - Must be current:
o Lifeguard/First Aid
o Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
o Responding to Emergencies (RTE) or Advanced First Aid
