Swimming Pool Attendant Job at Hubbell Realty Company
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check skimmer baskets for debris daily.
- Skim water surface of swimming pool daily.
- Vacuum bottom and sides of pool every other day or as needed.
- Test Chlorine and PH levels every four hours for the purpose of complying with mandated safety and health requirements.
- Backwash filters as needed.
- Host off deck and pool furniture as needed.
- Maintain records for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference trail and/or complying with mandated requirements.
- Empty all trash cans and make sure bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper and paper towels daily.
- Ensure pool furniture is set every morning before opening.
- Ensure equipment is running without issue (pool pump, filters, chemical feeder, heater).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be able to work under limited supervision and follow standardized practices.
- Must have the use of a dependable vehicle, a valid Iowa driver’s license and basic insurance covering the vehicle if covering multiple locations. Mileage reimbursement offered.
- Basic math skills, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios is required in order to maintain proper eater chemistry balance.
- Must follow protocols for hazardous materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally above head level.
- Must remain alert at all times to perform essential functions of position.

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult customers.
Shifts available (may be shared with other attendants. Just mornings, just evenings, just weekends, etc.)
- 8:30 am-10am - Prepare pool for opening. Test chemicals and record in logbook.
- 1:30-2:30 pm – General pool check, walk around perimeter, make sure the bottom drains are visible, pick up any trash on the deck or empty the trash if needed. Ensure equipment is running without issue (pool pump, filters, chemical feeder, heater), test chemicals and record in logbook.
- 5:30-6:30 pm - General pool check, walk around perimeter, make sure the bottom drains are visible, pick up any trash on the deck or empty the trash if needed. Ensure equipment is running without issue (pool pump, filters, chemical feeder, heater), test chemicals and record in logbook.
- 9:00-10:00 pm – Pool closes for the day. Make sure patrons are aware and are leaving. Check bathrooms to make sure everyone is gone. Pick up any trash on the deck and place any other items in the designated lost and found deck box. Reset all pool furniture to an orderly fashion. Test chemicals and record in logbook. Make sure gates are secure and locked.
