Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) is looking for a Benefits Reimbursment Associate to provide Third Party Liability support to our Benefits Recovery department. This individual will be responsible for pursuing and collecting overpaid and non-covered benefits due to MPI.

Responsibilities Include:

• Review reports of paid claims for generation of all Benefits Recovery accident questionnaires and perform all follow up duties
• Intake and handling of all Health Benefits related subpoenas and record requests including phone calls to requesting parties
• Explain Health Plan benefits and restrictions to Participants by phone and email
• Prepare excel summaries of paid claims related to reimbursable accidents or injuries
• Prepare collection letters and pursue benefits paid and interest where applicable
• Post payments, settlements, write-offs, and legal referrals in Collection and Billing system
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Third Party Liability and Workers' Compensation processes, regulations and compliance guidelines is preferred
• Previous Healthcare/Insurance experience is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology is strongly preferred
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency in PC skills including MS Word, Outlook, and basic Excel
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills; comprehensive problem solving skills
• Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required
• Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
